Sales Manager Appointed
Business is going very well so, right on plan, we have appointed a Sales Manager. Phil Walton has been around in the industry for many years and brings some real hands on personal experience. His strength is with customer interaction - whether a house wife at the door or a chef at a top restaurant.
Phil is passionate about Devon and wanted to work with producers who reared the best. "From the day I left my home in Australia I always knew I would end up in Devon with its fantastic people and great produce. I met up with Simon and everything happened very quickly". Phil says. "The first place I went was around Andrews sheep farm, and was pleased to see they were healthy and well tended. At Fowlescombe I finished up making friends with Fergal the bull. He was in amongst his cows and calves, being the king of all he surveys - a very gentle group of quality animals."
He joined us recently and has already signed up and got repeat orders at several top restaurants in Devon.
He believes it is critical to get out and meet customers on their door step. "This is the only way to get real feedback" he says. You will probably see him driving around in our van, chatting to customers at their door, while giving them advice on some special meal or how to use a cut of meat that they fancy.
