We have now the nucleus of our own herd of carefully selected pedigree Devon Reds, or Ruby Red cattle as they are know. Richard has joined the Ruby Red Society, who were very helpful finding a good mixed herd to get started.

"We choose the Rubies by pedigree, but of more importance by their conformation" said Richard. At the Ruby Red sale this autumn, my stock man and I were able to pick the 10 top selling animals - so are confident that we have an eye for them. We managed to get some of those and some others from herds which had not sent animals to the show. We hope to get enough animals to start putting steers through the system in the not too distant future. Watch this space.
