Lad wins sheep dog trail, helped by Andrew

Andrew, who runs Ley Farm, manages his several thousand sheep with a highly professional group of sheep dogs. He often runs four dogs at a time. Lad is his top dog - Lad is on the right! The trophy was won at the annual Devon versus Cornwall match. Lad was the highest pointed dog on the day in the open driving. The 6 highest pointed dogs from each county are added together to give the county winner which was also Devon (another trophy to come). The event was held at Princetown on Dartmoor on Ken Watson' farm. Richard at Fowlescombe also has a sheep dog Whisper, who is a 4 year old bitch. As a reward Lad will be 'spending some time' with Whisp such that we hopefully get some new pups to carry on the line. Well done to Andrew. Anyone who wants to stay at Andrew's farm in his holiday cottage and see the dogs at work check out his web site.
